Mobile devices have become an indispensable attribute of our time: it is both a source of entertainment and a tool for making payments or purchases. Your smartphone contains a huge amount of private information, including your photos, correspondence, and even bank details.
In case of loss of the device or leakage of passwords, a huge amount of data can get to intruders. A pattern key or fingerprint authorization is the minimum required for security.
But then we will not talk about ways to protect the device itself, but about the passwords stored in the browser, which can be easily viewed with certain knowledge. Most cybersecurity professionals recommend using unique passwords for each site and service you use.
It does not matter whether it is a social network, an email service, or a banking application, passwords should not be repeated. Naturally, over time, the number of passwords only increases and it is simply impossible to remember them all. You can solve this problem by using a password manager. At the same time, almost all modern browsers have a built-in password manager.
If you used the autocomplete function, but you do not remember which password you entered, and you urgently needed it, you can spy on the password under the asterisks or find it in the browser menu using this instruction.
View your passwords in Google Chrome
- Open the Chrome browser on your mobile device and click on the ellipsis icon in the upper right corner.
- In the menu that appears, you need to select “Settings > Passwords”,after which a page with all saved sites and passwords to them will open.
- To view the password, it is enough to select the site you are interested in, click on it, click on the eye-shaped icon and confirm that you are the owner of this account (fingerprint or password entry).

- After launching the application, click on three points to get to “Settings”.
- In the settings menu, we find “Logins and passwords”,after which we open “Saved logins” (they can request a password from the device, or a fingerprint) and view the sites whose passwords have been saved.
If you do not want to lose your dear account from a social network, say goodbye to mail or find out that your data has fallen into unwanted hands, then use the following rules:
- Never save passwords on other people’s computers
- Do not use the same passwords for different sites and services (there are password generators for this)
- Create long passwords using special characters, letters and numbers
- Use strong password managers with two-factor authentication
- Don’t use public Wi-Fi networks without a password, or turn on your VPN
